I’m currently working on a new Danish website called
Gymnet. So far I’ve had the pleasure
of implementing the design according to the graphics-people’s wishes.
That’s hopefully something that only needs to be done once :-)
Later we’ll make all sorts of fancy features in PHP.
But it’s still under construction (we began this Monday), so don’t expect
too much here in the beginning.

I’ve made my Eterms transparent, so they show the
background through. But the background that the
Eterms show is the one set by enlightenment,
and that’s not visible thanks to efm that covers the desktop.
So, what is there to do? Simple, you just set the background in
enlightenment to the same as the one in efm — problem solved.
First you’ll need the theme for
Eterm, put this in your $HOME/.Eterm/themes/Eterm
. Now your
Eterms should start up transparent.

The MySQL-database is up and running again. This
means that my Danish history-project “Kongemagtens betydning i
vikingetiden“ works again. It depended on the
database, where I kept the information about the images. The old database
was wiped out when I swiched to the new server — it’s now restored from
my local copy.

I’ve now made the source-code of all my pages available. Just click on the
link at the bottom of the pages. That will take you to a page where you
can see the source — fully color-coded thanks to
PHP!
I’ve made the source public, because I feel that the best way to learn
something new, like PHP, is to see what others have
done. So now you can have a look at how I’ve done things and hopefully
learn something. On the other hand, if you happen to be a real
PHP-guru, then don’t hesitate to point out where
I’ve made mistakes, and how I’ve should have done something. I’m still
learning.

We returned very early this morning (at 2:30 AM) from our trip to
Bornholm.
We had a wonderful week there. The weather was nice most of the time, so we
walked around the rocky terrain quite a bit. It was kind of funny to walk
in a forest, and then seeing cliffs sticking out of the earth, when you’re
not used to it.
I also read two books while I was there, “Rendezvous with Rama” and
“Rama II”. “Rama II” is the sequel to “Rendezvous with Rama”. I read
them in just a couple of days — they were that good. Arthur C. Clarke is
a fantastic writer, read these books (and also the follow-ups: “The
Garden of Rama” and “Rama Revealed”. I haven’t read those yet) and
you’ll be amazed yourself.
