New lovely 21″

Philips 201P Real Flat

I’ve ordered a new monitor from Philips. This 21″ monitor should be one of the best on the market, and I’m sure that it will be a big difference from my current 17″ setup.

Now, if I could just get my hand on a G200 graphicscard from Matrox… Then I could use Xinerama in XFree86 4.0 — from what I have heard, it sounds to like it is very cool.

Fixed problems with news-system

I thinks that I’ve finally managed to get rid of some stupid errors that occured when trying to save some text into the database with special charecters like ' (single quote) in it.

Athlon 700MHz

Athlon

My father has just got a new processor: a AMD Athlon 700 MHz. We had a 450 MHz Pentium III before, so our new system is almost twice as fast as the old. This is also reflected in the timings from prime95, where the time for 100 iterations is roughly halved.

I’m looking forward to see, how this new monster-maschine will effect the position of maxon.

New browser from Netscape

Netscape

I’ve just started to use the preview release of Netscapes new browser: Navigator v. 6

So far it looks like a really fine piece of software — it has a nice look, and things like my IntelliEye mouse-wheel works.

But strangly enough it can’t display the pop-up menus on my site :-( This is rather disappointing, since I found the menu-component at Netscape! But, who knows? I hope they will have it fixed in the next beta.

Welcome to the news-system!

See? It actually works! :-)
