I’ve made my Eterms transparent, so they show the
background through. But the background that the
Eterms show is the one set by enlightenment,
and that’s not visible thanks to efm that covers the desktop.
So, what is there to do? Simple, you just set the background in
enlightenment to the same as the one in efm — problem solved.
First you’ll need the theme for
Eterm, put this in your $HOME/.Eterm/themes/Eterm
. Now your
Eterms should start up transparent.

The MySQL-database is up and running again. This
means that my Danish history-project “Kongemagtens betydning i
vikingetiden“ works again. It depended on the
database, where I kept the information about the images. The old database
was wiped out when I swiched to the new server — it’s now restored from
my local copy.

I’ve now made the source-code of all my pages available. Just click on the
link at the bottom of the pages. That will take you to a page where you
can see the source — fully color-coded thanks to
PHP!
I’ve made the source public, because I feel that the best way to learn
something new, like PHP, is to see what others have
done. So now you can have a look at how I’ve done things and hopefully
learn something. On the other hand, if you happen to be a real
PHP-guru, then don’t hesitate to point out where
I’ve made mistakes, and how I’ve should have done something. I’m still
learning.

The stats-pages are becoming somewhat outdated. On the
new server I can’t just download the log-file, it’s rotated everyday to
generate some statistics that only I can see. That’s not exactly what I
wanted, but because the administrator of the server is on holiday I can’t
get an answer before in the middle of next week.

I’ve just picked up Diablo II in the
middle of the night! They started the sale at 00:01 — and there were
people waiting. It’s my little brother,
Kristoffer, who bought the game, but
I’ll properly also play it a little :-)
Kristoffer is currently working on the install — he took a full install
of 1550 MiB(!) There’s three CD’s: one for the installation, one for the
game and one for the cinematics. With a full installation all the necessary
files are copied to the computer. What a luck, that we have just bought
a 20,5 GB disk :-)
Now I’ll go and see how it goes — I plan to give you a full report on the
gameplay later!
