Brainbench certificate

Brainbench PHP4 Certificate I’ve just received three free certificates from Brainbench, an online provider of certification in a number of different categories. The three certificates look quite nice — they’re printed on nice thick paper and two of them has a “golden” star with the word “Master” on them :-)

I took a test in PHP, one in Linux Administration (Red Hat) and one in Internet Concepts. You can see my score here. The tests are quite long, and some of the questions are very difficult. When I took the PHP-test, I was asked all sorts of silly questions about functions you use with other databases than MySQL. It would have been nice if I could have indicated, that I only use MySQL.

1 Year Anniversary

Gimpster.com is now one year old — I know this because I’ve just received the bill for the next six months :-)

After I’ve made PHP Weather and my PHP Tutorial, I’ve received tons of positive feedback — thanks a lot. Those two projects together with the other things I have here at Gimpster.com have also made it possible for me to serve almost 100,000 pages the first year. Amazing!

Offline

Since I’m writing my big assignment on Mersenne primes this week, I’m likely to be offline for some time. If I have to attend my Inbox every 30 minutes, I’ll never get any work done, so I’ll probably kill my fetchmail daemon after the system is started.

My birthday

Yesterday was my birthday — I turned 19. I got some nice presents, like a new chair for my computer and a fancy wall-mountable CD-holder. I also got some money, which I’ve spend on a new quiet power-supply and a CPU cooler. When I bought my Athlon, I also had to buy a new power-supply, a 300W. But that was just a “normal” (read: noisy) one. These new quiet components, have reduced the noise-level significantly around my computer.

ANP again…

I’m sitting here at Aalborghus Net Party, ANP in short. I’ve only had about 4 hours of sleep this night :-)

A lot of computergames have been played — currently, people are battling it out in CounterStrike. We also have a very nice projector hooked up to a dvdplayer. If you take a look at this page, you’ll see your playlist, complete with estimated start-times, comments etc. (The link is in Danish)
